October 13, 2024

Nine companies have submitted their bids for the architectural finishing works at four new underground stations of Delhi Metro’s 23.622 km long Golden Line (Line-10), which will connect Aerocity to Tughlakabad via 15 stations.

Stations in Contract DC-09A

The four stations included in the DC-09A contract are:

  • Chhattarpur Station
  • Chhattarpur Mandir Station
  • IGNOU Station
  • Neb Sarai Station

The construction work for these stations is currently being handled by Larsen & Toubro (L&T) under Delhi Metro Phase 4’s 6.51 km underground Package DC-09, which connects Kishangarh Station to Saket Ramp.

Bidding Process and Timeline

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) invited bids for contract DC-09A in June 2024, with a completion deadline of two years. The project is being funded through a loan of Rs. 8,390 crore from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The technical bids were opened on September 25, revealing nine bidders.

List of Bidders:

  1. B. Rai Construction Company
  2. Himcon Engineers India Pvt. Ltd.
  3. Kamal and Associates Pvt. Ltd.
  4. Metcon India Realty and Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd.
  5. M I A Construction Pvt. Ltd.

Scope of Work

The scope of this contract involves comprehensive architectural finishing works at the four underground stations (Chhattarpur, Chhattarpur Mandir, IGNOU, and Neb Sarai) along the Aerocity-Tughlakabad corridor, a part of Delhi Metro’s Phase IV development.

Project Status

The bids are currently undergoing technical evaluation, which is expected to take a few months. Once completed, the financial bids of the technically qualified companies will be opened to determine the lowest bidder and the contractor for the package.

Among all three underground packages of the Golden Line (DC-07, DC-08, and DC-09), Package DC-09 is the most advanced in construction. Larsen & Toubro has already completed four out of ten planned tunnel breakthroughs. The latest breakthrough, involving Tunnel Boring Machine DZ1123 (TBM-2), took place last Saturday. Expected Completion and Operations

It is anticipated that commercial operations on the Golden Line will not commence before mid-2027. The full status of Delhi Metro Phase 4’s civil and system contracts can be found on the official updates page.
